Our Operations
The Hearing and Balance Clinic is a unit within the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat at Uppsala University Hospital. The clinic conducts diagnostics for hearing loss, tinnitus, and dizziness, as well as rehabilitation with cochlear implants and brainstem implants.
We see both children and adults. Some of our patients come with acute medical conditions and traumas, while others have longer rehabilitative contacts. The diagnostics we perform are both basic and highly specialized. We also receive students from nearby audiology programs as part of their clinical training.
Your Mission
As an audiologist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of audiologists, speech therapists, social workers, psychologists, hearing educators, engineers, coordinators, and audiologists. We also have close collaboration and exchange with the otosurgery clinic and the ENT clinic. Your main tasks will be within diagnostics. We perform all kinds of basic diagnostics, as well as highly specialized diagnostics such as ABR, ASSR, OAE, VEMP, and VNG. Patients of all ages come to the clinic, so you will perform both pediatric and adult measurements. The clinic has a large proportion of pediatric patients, so audiological measurements on children may be part of your work. If you are interested in balance assessments, there is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge in this area. As a new employee with us, you will receive an introduction and an experienced mentor. There is a good mix of high tempo, quick decisions, and time for reflection and recovery. The workgroup is characterized by a strong sense of community, responsiveness, and a passionate interest in hearing care.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed audiologist and can work independently. Previous experience with audiological hearing assessments is an advantage.
Your Skills
You are clear and pedagogical in your contact with patients. You can make independent decisions and assessments based on the diagnostics you perform. You are structured and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. We place great importance on personal qualities such as commitment, interest in the patient group, initiative, and good collaboration skills.
We Offer
Permanent employment, full-time. Start date according to agreement. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
